How does the Engage Touch check-in kiosk work?

The Engage Touch patient check in screen is a straight-forward system for patients to use. The patient simply touches the screen to select their sex and date of birth to verify their identity and they are booked in for their appointment.  With next day delivery, your patients could be checking in using Engage Touch tomorrow.

Our Engage Touch system has successfully booked in over 25 million patients!  Based upon 1 minute saved per patient and £9ph for a receptionist’s time, we’ve saved the NHS nearly £4m in staff costs alone.

Capture of QoF data comes as standard and is Read coded back in to the patient’s record.  As we fully integrate with EMIS, Vision and TPP, there is no need to buy a check in screen and call in screen from one supplier.  Surgeries are free to choose the solution which is the most cost effective, offers the greatest functionality and backed up by a dedicated support team.

Wiggly-Amps is the only patient self check-in touch screen provider to design and build both the hardware and software.  That is why our products are nearly half the cost of our closest competitor and we offer all our touch screen customers a lifetime hardware warranty, which no one else can match. If a problem develops with Engage Touch, we provide a free next day replacement regardless of the age of the unit, as part of your support contract.

Unlike our competition, we are a proud British company based in Norfolk.  We’re not part of a larger PLC or owned by an offshore company, so all our profits go back into business and supporting our loyal customer base, rather than to anonymous shareholders.

Key features of Engage Touch – patient touch screen:

  • Integrates directly with your clinical system and is fully compatible with EMIS, Vision and SystmOne
  • Unique lifetime hardware guarantee

  • Wide range of fixture options for the Engage Touch are available to suit the surgery’s needs – pedestal, wall-mount, desktop or VESA mount
  • Available in multiple languages at no extra cost – Arabic, Bengali, Danish, Farsi, French, Gujarati, Italian, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Somali, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Welsh
  • For surgeries who already have a working touch screen, why not maximise your investment by installing our Engage Touch software and instantly save money on your yearly support costs.

Our Support Package

Engage Touch is extremely reliable, but if it is not performing as it should, simply call our help desk on 01263 834648 (manned during UK office hours). We will diagnose the fault and endeavour to provide the fix there and then.

If there is a hardware problem, unlike our competitors who will force you to buy a new touch screen, we care passionately about our customers and will send out a replacement touch screen free of charge, without quibble and irrespective of the age of the unit.

Installation Instructions

In essence, Engage Touch patient check in screen needs two things in order to function: access to mains electricity and a network point to allow it to ‘talk’ to your appointments system.

If you do not have a network point available, we can provide  a Wi-Fi option for your Engage Touch.

Once your screen is in place, please call Wiggly-Amps support team on 01263 834648 so that we can install the software and ensure you are up and running.

Pricing

An Engage Touch patient check in screen costs £1823 +VAT including the first year’s support.

Our support package costs £274 +VAT a year thereafter.

If you do not have a live network socket where the Engage Touch is to be located, we can supply Wi-Fi for a one-off cost of £75 +VAT.

Testimonials

‘We’ve been more than happy with the screen, it’s freed up time at the desk so our receptionists can deal with the more complex queries, there are fewer queues meaning that patients are able to check in on time.’

Helen Harrison

Practice Manager, Drs Barsby & Kallarackel

‘We have been very pleased with the touch screen. Whilst you will always get the hard core of people who do not wish to use it has been a very useful addition and the receptionists have undoubtedly benefited.’

Kevin Bernard

Practice Manager, Botesdale Health Centre

‘We have been very happy with the Wiggly Amps touch screen, which has been in place for almost 2 years now. Our patients all love the convenience and it has freed up reception time to spend on more productive work. Also the early morning rush of patients booking appointments is now much easier to manage as we do not have patients trying to get to the receptionist at the same time to book in.

We have not had much need to call for help with the touch screen as it has proved very reliable but the service for our website and the little green (panic) button is some of the best I have experienced – always helpful, friendly and quick. Keep up the good work!’

Mary Hiscock

Deputy Practice Manager, The Stansted Surgery

‘We are very happy with the Patient Entry Touch Screen, despite the initial scepticism from some staff and a few patients it has been a great success. We have had a couple of patients who feel they are loosing the personal touch and they still check in using the receptionist. The vast majority of patients seem more than happy to use the system and some of our older patients embraced the change with real enthusiasm. We have used it to advertise our flu clinics and regularly use it to notify patients if a doctor is running behind, all in all you could say we are very pleased and would certainly recommend the system.’

Debbie Harrison

Practice Manager, The Danby Surgery

‘The introduction of the touch screen at the practice has been a god send. It has taken pressure of the reception desk and is quick and easy to use. Patients were hesitant at first but now they think it is fantastic as if they have an appointment they come straight in and use the touch screen without having to queue.’

Richard Frier

Manager, Old Coulsdon Medical Practice

‘The patient touchscreen certainly takes the pressure off the receptionists, who now have more time to address patient queries and phone calls. Most patients are willing and happy to use the system, and it is helpful to add a generic message that all patients can see when they book in, for example about booking flu appointments once the flu season starts.’

Mrs Sue Daniel

Computer Manager, Dr Diana Stevens & Partners

‘I not only have the screen here, I also use it at my own surgery. As a patient it is fantastic I arrived at my Practice yesterday for a physio appointment with patients waiting at the desk and it took me seconds to sign in using the touch screen.

With regard to the screen here the receptionist find it invaluable it prevents a build up of patients at the reception desk, it is fast, user friendly, accurate and reliable.’

Caron Standerwick

Practice Manager, Somerton House Surgery

‘Overall we are very pleased with the software the patients have commented how clear it is, easy to follow and most of all does save our receptionists time . We have also found it really useful for ensuring that smoking status (QoF), telephone numbers and addresses are up to date…’

Emma Shenton

Practice Secretary, Rising Brook Surgery

‘We are now successfully running two check in screens with your software. I would just like to reiterate what an incredibly professional and knowledgeable support team you have.
Thank you for your help in supporting us at such short notice.’

Jani Parsons

I wanted to write this email quickly to thank you for the products and customer service that you provide. It makes our lives a lot easier knowing that we have affordable products which work and that if we have any problems with them we can phone you and received great customer service. Whenever I have phoned you, the call has been answered very quickly, the person answering the call has always made me feel as though I am a valued customer and they have always appeared to try their best to resolve any issues which we have had. If only all companies were as customer focused as you!

Jordan Barraclough

Administrator, The Phoenix Medical Centre

I just wanted to record my thanks for the help you and the Support team (Matt, I think was his name) gave me yesterday. The new screen is now up and running perfectly. I always get excellent support from you all (even when it may sometimes be outside of your remit!).

Hilary Bartrum

IT Manager, Greenway Community Practice

I spoke with one of your technicians who installed and configured the software for us. Sadly I forgot to write down their name but never the less I would like to express my appreciation to them for the time they spend setting it up, they were exceptionally professional and friendly which was wonderful.

Sam Pearce, IT Manager

Axbridge & Wedmore Medical Practice

Another successful replacement of a competing supplier’s arrival screens by two Engage units from Wiggly Amps – having undertaken such an exercise at my previous practice, this time it was even easier. The standard software now includes a “Friends and Family” facility and a number of options for capturing data from patients – but the best feature is that it just keeps on working!

Robin M. Crorie

IT and Contracts Lead, Kiltearn Medical Centre (Dr P J Flattery and Partners)

‘Receptionist feed back is that it takes a lot of pressure off them which is most appreciated, particularly at peak times. System has operated trouble free since installed, and on the very odd occasion we have needed to contact support desk the response has been instantaneous. It is better for patients and doctors as no risk of appointments running late due to patients waiting in queue to check in. Our patients, young and old, have taken to it very well and once used for first time they are then more than happy to re-use on subsequent appointments.’

Mike Smith

Practice Manager, Kingsway Medical Practice

‘Wiggly Amps have provided excellent support to us when we have needed it. The touch screen has been a valuable asset to us as a practice, both for reducing queues and freeing up receptionist time. It gives patients the choice on whether they really need to go to reception and can make their visit a little bit easier when not feeling their best.’

Toni Clifford

IT Clerk, Coastal Medical Group

Our Engage Touch screens are working brilliantly and I will be ordering another 2 shortly

Tracey Carter

Practice Manager, South Axholme Practice

We are delighted with our Engage Touch screen.  Our patients are finding it much easier to use than our last screen – there are less check-in failures with inputting their date of birth and we’re even asking them to update their mobile phone numbers.  We’re planning to use it for collecting other useful patient data too.  It’s straight-forward, seems to work alongside the Vision clinical system without trouble and does what it says on the tin!

Mary Simpson

Victoria Practice, Perth

We’d been using Wiggly-Amps patient check-in software on a third party touchscreen since 2015 and when this machine failed, we chose to replace it with an Engage Touch screen.  We’re really happy with our Engage Touch screen – it’s a lot better than the third party screen which kept crashing.  Our patients are now able to check in without any problems.

Office Manager, Staithes Surgery, Saltburn-by-the-Sea
