EnCompass Messaging System
EnCompass is a practice messaging system that has been designed and developed in co-operation with most of the practices of North Norfolk PCT. The success of Encompass is entirely due to the open and forthright feedback provided by the staff of these practices. This document provides a short summary of the system's major features.
Overview
Once installed in a practice, EnCompass is available to every networked computer. A user can log on to any machine in order to send, receive and monitor messages. To avoid duplication of effort, your existing clinical database is used to auto-complete patient and staff details when composing messages.
The user interface makes extensive use of practice configurable drop-down lists to streamline data entry. We have made the removal of superfluous mouse-clicks and menu selections a personal crusade!
Encompass is designed as an electronic replacement for the message and visit books and has evolved to include many useful features, such as:
- Audited message book for all users
- Overdue message alerts
- Message pools & covering for absent staff
- A highly effective panic button
- Simple, un-audited pop-up messaging
- Definable distribution lists
- Visit management system
- Practice notice board/Individual address book
- Individual diaries and a practice diary
- Tight integration with your clinical system
- Full audit trail & powerful archive search tools
- Multi-site capable (plus, can run on a thin client session)

In our experience every doctors surgery is different. We recognize that EnCompass needs to respect your systems and processes and accordingly the software is very configurable and can accommodate many different working practices.
