Broadband (ADSL)

The Little Green Button

So many of our products and services are web-enabled or web-based that we needed to find a reliable, cost effective broadband solution for ourselves.

By far the best that we found was Entanet who we have run our ADSL accounts with for a number of years. Recently we have been offering our customers an ADSL service as an Entanet reseller.

As we started to introduce services using broadband that we support, ADSL reliability became essential. Accordingly we became a reseller for Entanet broadband services and are now happy to offer superlative ADSL to our customers.

Please note, Entanet do not deal directly with the public hence you have to go through one of Entanet's resellers.

So, how reliable are they?

In our experience, all broadband providers have periods of difficulty, this has also applied to Entanet. However, we are confident to recommend Entanet for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they are up front about service disruption, both planned and unplanned. Secondly, they have and continue to invest heavily in their infrastructure as their customer base grows.

Not without reason they were awarded 'Specialist Vendor of the Year' in the CRN Channel Awards in late 2006.

How much does it cost?

To date we have only needed to supply our customers with two of Entanet's packages:

Broadband Home PAYG Monthly Fee = £14.69 Maximum monthly allowance 1GB
MAX Home Allowance 3GB Monthly Fee = £19.99 Maximum monthly allowance 30GB

For the average internet user, the maximum allowance of 1GB transfer is more than sufficient.

If you do go over your monthly usage allowance, you will be charged £0.85 per GB over the maximum allowed.

The speed of the broadband that you will receive will be the maximum that your BT line can support.

How to set up a new broadband connection

First it is advisable to check that your phoneline is capable of carrying a broadband connection, and what the speed is likely to be. We can check this for you, give us a call on 01263 834648.

There is a £47.50 activation charge for new broadband connections.

You will need to purchase certain equipment, we recommend and can supply the following:

  • A router - wi-fi or non wi-fi
  • Microfilters
  1. Any item that connects to the phone line must go through a microfilter, eg. Fax Machine, Sky TV Box, Telephones, Analogue dialup modems.
  2. If an extension cable is used from the BT phone socket to the router, then the microfilter must be fitted at the router end of the extension and NOT the BT wall socket end.

How to migrate your current broadband connection

Migrations to Entanet are free of charge.

The first thing you would need to do is to contact your current internet service provider and ask them for a MAC code (this is the code you need to switch between providers).

Once you have your MAC code, call us on 01263 834648 and we will arrange for your broadband to be transferred to Entanet.
